Slanted Window Cap
OUTLINE
The slanted window caps are components in which an optical window is joined to an inclined metal can using sealing glass. By tilting the window, it is possible to suppress the effect of the laser beam reflecting off the window and re-entering the element (return light). Recently suppressing return lights are required in laser packages such as VCSELs and MEMS packages. For that reason, Yamamura Photonics proposes caps and LIDs with a slanted window.

Excellent hermeticity / High reliability
Highly reliable hermetic packages are realized by joining metal cans and window materials using sealing glass.
Hermeticity:under 1×10-9Pa・m3/s以下
Reliability: Pass the Temperature Cycling Test (-55℃/10min⇔+125℃/10min ×2000cyc) and the Damp Heat Test (+85℃, 85% ×2000h)
Contributes to suppression of return light
An arbitrary angle of the windows suppresses the return light in the laser packages or MEMS packages.
Typical tilt angle: ~ 17 ° (cap type), ~ 22 ° (LID type)
Custom design support
It is possible to design tilt angles and optical coatings. In addition to the cap shape, we also support the custom design of the LID shape.
